Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

For clients who wish to incorporate ketamine sessions directly into therapy, the traditional treatment process typically includes three phases.

Preparation Session (1 hour)

The preparation session focuses on therapeutic goals, emotional readiness, and establishing safety for the experience. We discuss intentions, expectations, and how the experience may support the broader therapy process.

Dosing Session (2–3 hours)

During the dosing session, ketamine may be administered in several forms depending on medical supervision and individual circumstances.

Options may include:

• lozenge or dissolvable tablet
• nasal spray
• IV infusion at a medical clinic
• self-administered medication prescribed by a physician

Some dosing sessions may occur in the therapy office or virtually with your therapist under monitoring, while others occur through an outside medical provider or at home with a prescription. During the experience, therapeutic support may involve silent or guided emotional processing and reflective or experiential support.

Integration Session (1 hour)

Integration occurs within approximately one week of the dosing session. This session focuses on processing the experience, identifying meaningful insights, and translating those insights into changes in behavior, relationships, and emotional regulation.

EXPECTED COURSE OF TREATMENT

Many individuals begin noticing shifts after approximately two dosing sessions. A typical course of treatment often includes around eight dosing sessions.

When participating in a full treatment series, it is generally recommended that dosing sessions occur no more than two weeks apart to maintain therapeutic continuity.

COST

Therapy sessions are billed at $165 per hour.

Some insurance plans may cover:

• preparation sessions
• integration sessions
• up to one hour of the dosing session if monitored by therapist

Clients are typically responsible for any remaining time associated with the dosing session if it extends beyond what insurance covers.

Clients who self-dose or receive ketamine infusion or ketamine through a medical clinic may choose to participate in integration therapy only which is covered by most insurance and clients are typically only responsible for copay amount.
